An award-winning filmmaker, commercial video producer, and speaker, Johnny Cathcart is also author of the inspirational memoir and internet sensation, "Hotpants... a memoir," a book Writer's Digest has called "incredible, compelling, and uplifting." Detailing his victory over cancer twice in his early teens and struggle to discover lasting faith. Cathcart, now 25, has appeared in "Dragonfly," and the Oscar-winning movie "The Cider House Rules." After cancer he went on to pursue a career behind the camera, with an arm into the creative writing industry as well, devoting his life to bringing forth the powerful message he learned through his bouts with cancer. A graduate of Webster University with a degree in film production, his short films have won awards and played at festivals throughout the country. Currently, he lives in New York City where he works as a freelance videographer, editor, and producer. He does occasional book signings and motivational speaking at hospitals, churches, fund-raising dinners, and survivor picnics.
